All
musicians are unique with their own ‘voice’.
It stands to reason that at some point in a musician’s
growth as an artist their instrument must evolve to be
an extension of themselves. This evolution can more successfully
be achieved if the musician’s instrument is designed
and made specifically for their own ‘voice’.
The overall design, inlays or lack thereof, the dimensions,
even the number of strings, should reflect the musician's
unique ideas and musical requirements.
My interest in the unusual, as well as my training in
different backgrounds in Lutherie and Archeterie and exposure
to a wide range of musical tools allows us (you the Musician
and me the Luthier) to produce a musical tool to suit exactly
requirements and needs and last as long as design limitations
and materials will allow, in most cases outliving the musician.
All aspects of design and end use are discussed and planned
before and during the entire process. I encourage the musician
to be involved with the new instrument from raw material
all through the process.
